Back to school is quickly approaching! Some of you may have already started, and I apologize for posting this late. Planning outfits for the week is tough, and frustrating at times. Every morning, various questions pop in my mind. Does this skirt match with this top? Does a circle skirt look appropriate with a crop top? And the classic, do these jeans make my butt look big? It's hard finding quick and easy outfits, that don't take away from your style. I put together rules/ guides to help plan the perfect outfit everyday and will work with many common dress codes. Below are the common back to school trends, that won't break the bank, and still look polished.
Crop Tops/ Skater/ Circle Skirts
This Summer, crop tops have been in popular demand. Everyone has been wearing them, regardless of where you live. On every YouTuber's outfit of the week videos, crop tops have been worn. I personally love crop shirts, as long as you wear high waisted shorts or a skirt to cover up a lot of skin. If the area above your belly button is showing, I would recommend wearing something different. In the summer, people can get away with that, but for school, it's a no-no. Many Schools are different with their dress codes, so keep that in mind. If you want to wear a crop top, make sure no skin is showing, buy wearing a cute circle skirt that can fit above your belly button, such as this affordable one from Forever 21. http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=bottom_skirt&ProductID=2077602105&VariantID=
If your arms have to be covered, wear a loose cardigan over top of your crop top!
High Low dresses:
High Low dresses and skirts are not only adorable but comfortable. They are flattering, because they show off your legs but cover the back of your calves. I would avoid floral ones, because they are too busy, and draw away from the shape of the dress. For school, make sure your dress is long enough in the front, because many are way too short. This one is great for school, because it's long enough in the front to work with many dress codes. http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=dress_high-low-dresses&ProductID=2046563902&VariantID=
Peplum tops:
Honestly, you really can't go wrong with a form fitting peplum top. Make sure that the seam where the peplum starts, isn't too high or low. They look put together, classy and like you just stepped off of the runway. Pair a bright colored peplum with black jeans and flats, and a statement necklace. This one is perfect! http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=top&ProductID=2023736011&VariantID=
Shift Dresses:
If you want an easy, but adorable outfit, wear a simple shift dress, a slouchy cardigan and either sandals (if they are allowed), or lace tennis shoes. They look so simple, but put together. You'll look like a classic beachy/ hipster much like the girls from Brandy Melville. Make sure the dress is appropriate with your dress code! http://www.brandymelvilleusa.com/clothing/dresses/nora-dress-1900.html
Oversized Sweaters:
My friends and I practically live in large comfy sweaters, leggings and boots. If it's cold where you live right now, huge sweaters are perfect. Pair with any leggings normally stick to black) and tall riding boots, and your hair in a top knot. It's the perfect "lazy day" outfit. http://www.forever21.com/product/product.aspx?br=F21&category=sweater&productid=2030186034&variantid=
